Giddy uppp!!!
5:49 AM  Cowboys & cowgirls in the Tunnel of Lights going up towards schoolLionel & I went to this introductory party called the Western Festival, organised by the school to welcome new students as well as exchange students. The theme was anything western, so lots of students were in cowboy hats, guns, checked shirts, with sheriff badges and vests, and also red indian chief headgear. Super cool, but Lionel & I got a culture shock, because the way people partied was so different. People went to pre-parties first to get drunk before heading down to the party venue. When we got onto the train heading towards school, there was a girl sitting on the train floor puking into one of the bins near the train doors. She had her fingers in her mouth trying to gouge out all her puke. ewww  Everything was really well organized though, with a bull riding machine and DJs in different rooms and cowboys singing. It was fascinating just to see the differences between a party here and back home. Here its almost a full-blown party, and people do really dress to the theme. There's going to be a White Party tomorrow, where some famous DJ for trance music is flying in from Paris and everyone is supposed to dress in white from head to toe. The both of us won't be heading in for another party any time soon though, at least until we manage to either get an entire Asian congregation to go down with us, or we get to know some ang mohs who can show us the ropes at the party.
