mixed feelings
11:43 AM Had a gathering last night with the hall darlings at Essential Brews, someplace I haven't gone to since we celebrated Xiuping & Nick's birthdays when we were still in our 1st year. We were freshmen then. Now I'm an 'old bird'!! And I know I'm not the only one who feels old. But as much as I've 'aged', its so heart-warming to know that with some people you will probably always be able to have the same types of conversations. And its only now that as I count-down the hours till my flight, I truly appreciate their presence in my life, and am aware of how much I think I will miss them. As I left Polly at the bus stop yesterday, we kept having 'last hugs' and I was so reluctant to acknowledge that there would be no more Polly hugs for half a year. I haven't begun to call my friends darlings yet, but they really are darlings. And I know I'm not the only one being ambivalent about my trip. Add the chore of packing to the 'will-miss-the-people-in-singapore' and it's got me wishing I could postpone my flight a few more days. Its odd to think that possibly in half a year's time, I would be wishing the same thing, except I would be wanting to stay in Norway just those few more days. Oh yes, about packing, I really really wish a wand could drop from the sky, with which I could just wave it and my luggages would be neatly packed, with every single thing I could ever need. Better so if it could make it a compact briefcase size. But that's all gonna stay in my dreams. I've got good news though, darlings! I get free incoming calls when I'm in Norway! You must be thinking I'm kidding, but its for real! I called to double and triple check with SingTel this morning and its absolutely free! You and I both don't get charged overseas call charges. Its gonna be almost as though I'm still here in Singapore. Although.. I sometimes doubt the customer service officers so maybe I could try it out for the first month or so and see how. If all goes well, at least you guys can still get a dose of my voice every now and then. hee 35 hours till I board BA0016 and cross the oceans to London and then to the capital of all Norwegian salmons, Oslo! Departure's at 11.15pm, Changi Terminal 1. I should probably be there about 9plus I guess.. provided I have finished packing. :P I am gonna miss everyone and everything in Singapore. 0 comments |
