i've got a job
11:00 AM I am currently employed! well.. not legally yet, but verbally. haha that's cause I'm supposed to go down to the job agency to sign the appropriate documents at 2pm later. the job's with DBS, as some sort of a hotline operator. basically, i am supposed to learn all about using the DBS corporate website so that I can answer queries that come in thru the hotline. that also means i get to use the internet! haha altho i hardly believe there'll be msn on it. baah anyhow, the pay is only $5.50 / h.. i was really contemplating whether or not to take it, but i decided i'd be better off doing something with my time. meanwhile, other people are raking in the cash at $10/h. just makes me feel so exploited. haha the working hours are loong. from 8.30 - 6.15 (i'm dreading the waking up part. i think i'd better tweak my biological clock back) , starting from monday. so mandy! we'll have to watch this weekend. haha else i'll never catch it. chris, the job agency was really useful. I only signed up on Mon, and then they called me up on Tues and told me about two DBS openings, one admin and the other this one that i got. I was put up for a phone interview for the next day(Wed) and on the same day after the interview, viola! i was employed. haha it seemed almost effortless except having to go down to the agency to fill in my details. (oops i realised i still haven't sent the details to you yet. i'll get down to it after i blog. lol) anyway, i'll update again after i finally find out what exactly my job scope is like. meanwhile, i was kinda interested in joining Cheng at Lawry's! haha it sounded so classy, and not to mention easy, since all male waiters are your assistants so you won't have to step into the kitchen. so all you do is serve. it sounded great to me, plus the fact that i'd have someone i know to work with.. and after the training is over, you get paid $6/h. which is more than what i get. haha 0 comments |
