hot choc and marshmallows
1:39 AM  thankewe yixin n jeff for the lovely cup! :) the two of them got me this lovely cup with a picture of Ash happily riding a scooter with a sling across his shoulder. so cute! Ash is happy with his own cup! :)  supper at XinWang HongKong Cafe n a long stroll to catch the Xmas lights!  went out with nick n vince on monday night before goin home, to walk around town a bit and catch The Holiday. we bought tickets for the midnight movie so before that we had lotsa time to spare but we were stuck between Heeren and Cineleisure cos of the heavy downpour. Ran in the rain from building to building so many times. haha then we decided to stay in Cine and went to the HongKong cafe for hot Yuan Yang tea and toast! *drool*. they use butter as if it's free but charge 40cts for iced water instead. but yea the food's nice! thk I'll go back for a proper dinner soon. I wanna try the rest of the food, but I thk their desserts are still gonna be the main attraction. after warming up out tummies we walked aimlessly around town for a bit before going back for the show when the rain lightened up. quite fun since I haven't been around town for some time now.  Well, now for my review of The Holiday. We couldn't really decide on which movie to watch initially and The Holiday didn't have much publicity so we weren't sure if it was gonna be good. We kinda decided on a whim, cos the guys said lets ask the people streaming out of the theatre what they just watched and whether they'd recommend it. So I walked up to these 2 Caucasian ladies and well they'd just come out from The Holiday so that was what we watched lah. Anyways, its one of those feel-good Xmas season movies; unrequited love finds true love and single lonely people find someone to love. kinda motivational. and complete with a Happy Ending. And so very similar to Love Actually. If you liked Love Actually, you'd probably like this too. Although Vincent said he almost fell asleep on a few occasions but Nick and I were pretty happy watching. Stars Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Jack Black and Kate Winslet. quite a stellar cast and well it really made me all warm n fuzzy inside at some points. so despite the cold rain storming outside, it warms u up like hot chocolate and marshmallows. guess that's why these kinda movies are so popular during the wintery xmas season. :) good to catch on a weekday anyway! and with a loved one. was telling nick he shld have watched it with Shingy rather than us. but well she's away in Australia so he couldn't have anyway. oh and goodness, jude law is so charming inside! he's better than hot chocolate and marshmallows! :P sorry for the gushing. lol 0 comments |
