cable-skiing saps your arms of energy! 


at the cable ski place! 

it was tonnes of fun! first time cable-skiing so it was especially thrilling! batam is a quaint little island that still retains its rustic culture. its really like a kampong except with a few bigger buildings and a pretty luxurious hotel in its midst. Holiday Inn is one of the few hotels on Batam but rather than being run-down, we were greeted by commendable front-desk service and a cosy family suite. The facilities were more than adequate and it wouldn't have been unbearable to stay for more than the one day we were there. the hotel even obligingly sent the whole group of us to and from the go-kart place using their mini-bus when we requested.

the cable-skiing reminded me of windsurfing. and made me miss surfing. the feeling of riding on water on a board is similar except cable skiing goes at faster speeds. but then I still think it is uncomparable to the feeling of being carried out to sea by the wind. when the wind fills your sail and pushes you forward. so fulfilling.

I've never taken the reverse bungee, never been to the US, and never dyed my hair pink. And I want to go on an misadventure once in my life.
