all the fuss and trouble..
5:51 PM I neglected to mention that I got the call from the SMU Admissions Dept arranging for my interview for Accountancy previously. They'd first called while i was airborne and enjoying the good food served by our world-renowned Singapore girls. And of course my handphone was turned off so that gave me 2 missed calls. Upon touchdown and check-out, I got the call again, from the guy called Chin Hian i believe. I had to inform him I was overseas and wouldn't be back until Monday.. so then he called back again on Mondy, to notify me that my scheduled interview was on Thursday!.. that gave me 3 days to apply for leave and get myself prepared for the interview, of which I'd heard was pretty stringent. Seems the interviews involved questions requiring comment about current affairs issues such as debate about a Casino in Singapore and Euthanasia(in reference to the Terry Chiavo incident), amongst others regarding one's CCA involvement, their reason for choosing accountancy, or for applying for SMU(over NTU or NUS as they may presume.) and seriously, I haven't given a thought to those questions at all.. nor had I been reading the newspapers. fortunately, I asked for a rescheduling and so my interview now falls next Tuesday, 19th April at 2.45pm in the afternoon and gave me this weekend to catch up as much as i can. (naturally i didn't do much yesterday and till right now. the weather has been too humid for the brain to function properly. :P) think i'd better plan what to wear as well.. that's such a headache. probably pants.. and well erm a shirt?... man.. of course why do i go through all this for? so I MAY get myself into the double degree programme and possibly garner myself a scholarship. but then they tell me that the interviews for the awarding of these other two programmes are separate from this one next Tuesday. means i'll have to go down again. how wonderful. why would they want to repeatedly agonise me... not like they don't have enough interviews to conduct already.. 0 comments |
